Reinforced concrete foundations & machinery washdown area, Abingworth winery, West Sussex

Abingworth winery needed a solid base for a new storage unit, plus a dedicated area to wash down machinery without dirty water ending up in the ground.

We laid a new 25m x 8m reinforced concrete pad foundation, designed to take the weight of the new storage unit and give it a strong, level base for years to come.

Alongside it, we built a second reinforced concrete pad to create a machinery washdown area, with a silt trap built into the slab. The drainage separates the two types of water: foul waste is directed into a cesspool tank, while clean surface water drains away naturally into a soakaway. That keeps the site clean, protects the surrounding land and makes everyday washdowns quick and easy.
